Can you imagine if #2 Flipcup holds on for second versus losing it by a head what the Super Screener suggested $.50 Trifecta wager of 9-2-4 would have paid?  You are looking at something close to $3,000!!!  Ugh!  And, that Super Screener top long shot bomber pick #2 Flipcup did her job in finishing 3rd at unbelievable odds of 41-1!  Glad to hear some of you singled that bomber in third and fourth and spread in the 1 and 2 holes to hit the huge Trifecta.  I was glad to see some Super Screener subscribers at Mr. D’s at Arlington Park connect on that Trifecta. Even if you flip our top win pick, #4 Desiree Clary with the winner #9 Paige, you are still looking at a huge, huge Trifecta pay off.  Close doesn’t count, however and for nailing the 2 and 3 hole including a 41-1 shot, this one was pretty frustrating when it comes to our suggested wagers.  Here’s what the Super Screener had to say about #2 Flipcup:

#2 Flipcup comes up very strong as a top rated Super Screener long shot. She’ll be dismissed based on the last two efforts but you can toss the race on the slop and the 9/25 race at Belmont was deceptively good.  Was at least 4 lengths better than what the outcome shows due to trouble early and late.  Even the race prior to that should have been a win with a better trip.  Possesses a wicked turn of foot and can run strong off the shelf for the Mott barn.  Could go off at monster odds and deserves inclusion in your Exotic wagers.

Woodchopper – FG

This race originally was a 14-horse field.  Even after our late morning update that included several scratches, there were more exits that followed after that release.  Super Screener took a stand against the favorite, #3 One Mean Man but that one prevailed in the end. Here’s what we had to say about One Mean Man:

“(One Mean Man) Super Screener says vulnerable at the low price for a barn that has been a bit chilly as of late. Pace/speed analysis does not match up well with this field, projected pace and form cycle.  But recent work encouraging.”

One bit of redemption was the fact that, once again, the Super Screener top long shot bomber pick #10 Cordon, (which ended up being the longest shot on the board) did get up in the final yards to compete the $324.80 Trifecta in a field that was nearly cut in half in size in the end.  The Super Screener sniffed this one out as a live play…

“TOP LONG SHOT (Cordon) Another prime long shot pick.  Gets a very pressured pace for his late run and secures that ideal outside position on this course.  Last race so much better than it looks.”

Tropical Park Oaks – GP

The Super Screener top win pick, #2 Try Your Luck, finished third and the top long shot pick, #6 Family Meeting, got up for third.  Other than that, no where close on the Exacta finish as the Super Screener had both of those horses ranked pretty low in this field.

When the rail is out 108 feet or more on these Gulfstream Park route turf races, definitely favor horse that project to be among the top three at the top of the stretch.  With the rail out that far, both mid-pack and late closers struggle in that they cover extra ground if they are outside on the turn and then have very little stretch in which to gain on their more forwardly placed foes.

G1 American Oaks – SA

The Super Screener top win pick finished a game 2nd losing by the narrowest of margins at odds of 9-2.  Our most reliable board hitter pick did not disappoint and actually won this race with an impressive late run at the same odds of 9-2.  A Super Screener top long shot bomber pick once again produced and in a big, big way, exploding the bottom of the Superfecta at eye-popping and undeserving odds of 71-1!  Once again, we know some of you had that unbelievable bomber on the bottom of your Superfectas and used our top picks on top to hit big, big score.  Congratulations to all of you!
