Super Screener Hits 4 Straight Winners at Kentucky Downs

Reed Palmer/Kentucky Downs

G3 KY Downs Ladies Turf

About as orderly as a race outcome can get as the field finished in the order of their odds with Miss Temple City prevailing by a neck over a very determined Zipessa which were the top two ranked horses by the Super Screener.  Despite the 4-5 over 3-1 Exacta finish, the Super Screener suggested Exactas featuring this pair returned just over $200.  Look for Miss Temple City to return to the turf course on which she has delivered her best performances as she tries to defend her dominance in the G1 Shadwell Turf Mile at Keeneland.

“#5 Miss Temple City is the deserved favorite and the class of the field.  Her ultimate goal is the Breeders’ Cup so just a move forward off her last race is what connections are looking for.  In fact, the G1 Shadwell is probably the ultimate goal as that is by far her favorite turf course.  She provides no value here but at the same time the Super Screener can’t see her finishing out of the Trifecta or even the Exacta.”

KY Downs Ladies Sprint

“A” rated Super Screener pick, Lull, returned to the scene of her last win and has now firmly established her “horse for course” status on the Kentucky Downs lawn with connections already making plans to return next year.  She stalked off the modest pace as the Screener predicted and then she dug down and put them away in the final furlong in a good looking win.

“King of Kentucky Downs”, Michael Maker, continued is dominance at this meet which included a deep closing second by his long shot charge, Happy Mesa (20-1), which the Super Screener used heavily in the suggested wagers.  Happy Mesa sat chilly near the back of the field before commencing a relentless late drive to finish just a neck over another top Super Screener pick, Morticia.

Our Top Board Hitter candidate, Fair Point, completed the Superfecta. Our top win pick and long shot pick, Corby, got bet down to 7-1 from morning line odds of 20-1, but disappointed as her jock decided to lead the pace on a turf course that has clearly not been kind to that type this meet.

The suggested Super Screener Trifecta came back to pay $345.

In what continued to be “Chalkfest Saturday,” the Super Screener’s top 2 rated win candidates did not disappoint as they comprised the winning Exacta.  The recent Mike Maker claim, turf sprinting veteran Hogy, just got past a very dogged Commend for the win, and that latter colt continues to impress as a rising turf sprinter star.

Another turf sprinting veteran, Undrafted, found his old form running gamely from mid-pack to miss second place by just a nose to Commend.

The improbable Indy Hill at odds of 45-1 held on by a narrowing neck for 4th place over out top long shot bomber pick, Crewman (25-1) to deny the Super Screener’s suggested Superfecta wager from being hit.

None the less, the suggested Trifecta and Exacta wagers combined for a decent return of about $400 considering favorites made up the Trifecta.

G3 Kentucky Turf Cup

The Super Screener’s top two choices finished a very solid 2nd and 3rd with yet, another Mike Maker charge and horse-for-course, Oscar Nominated, getting up in time for the win.  Our top win pick Postulation showed a lot of grit and determination and continues to win support as a top US-based turf marathoner.

The Super Screener suggested Trifecta wager cashed for $115 despite in what was another line up of chalk.

It is Woodbine’s turn to shine next Saturday with a nice card featuring multiple Graded stakes races headlined by the Woodbine Mile.  Churchill Downs and Belmont Park have some stakes races to choose from so plenty of racing action to choose from.

Until next weekend…Go fast and win!
