Top Longshots Hit at KY Downs

G3 KY Turf Cup

Our top two bomber long shot picks rumbled on the front end of a very slow pace as the Super Screener had accurately projected and then hung on to snag 2nd and 3rd.  That resulted in connecting on a couple of the suggested Exacta wagers for $360.  And, with #1 Run Tum Tugger finishing third at an astonishing 60-1, that was good enough to hit a suggested $1 Superfecta ticket paying nearly $800.

#7 Da Big Hoss displayed once again why he is the current king of the marathon turf crowd.  Doesn’t matter what pace sets up, he just has that deadly combination of stamina and turn of foot and can win under any circumstance which is why he was our easy top win pick in the race.

Here’s what we had to say about our top long shot bombers that hit the board behind #7 Da Big Hoss:

“TOP LONG SHOT (Bullard’s Alley) Really nice long shot gets the perfect pace set up.  This 4 yr old will set the dawdling pace.  Must be able to hold off the cavalcade of closers coming late.  Great shot to hold on to second at a nice price.”

“TOP LONG SHOT (Rum Tum Tugger) Trainer Sheppard can bombs away at this meet. This old gelding has the looks of one of his dangerous types.  Will get a much easier pace today and should go off at higher than 30-1.  Hot long shot!”
It was a good conclusion to a day of great racing at fan-friendly, Kentucky Downs.

One Dreamer Stakes

As you are probably noticing, the Super Screener Top Long Shot picks are really coming through week after week.  How I didn’t manage to put Lots o’ Lex on top over our number one pick #6 No Fault of Mine, I’ll never know.  Hopefully some of you did put those two together to cash a decent score.  We included #7 Lots o’ Lex generously “underneath” in suggested tickets but I couldn’t pull the trigger on putting her on top…very frustrating.

TOP LONG SHOT (Lots ‘o Lex) Was ambitiously placed in the G1 Beverly D and tossed a stinker in her 2016 debut.  Will improve in a big way off that effort and 2nd off the long layoff.  Consider as a bottom of Superfecta bomber.

Our top win choice #6 No Fault of Mine also exited the G1 Beverly D stakes and finished a game 2nd closing with every stride on #7 Lots o’ Lex but ran out of real estate in the end.

More Than Ready Stakes

With the scratch of our top pick #6 Chiltern and trainer Wesley Ward’s other charge #4 Hootenanny, this race became a lot less playable from a value stand point.  The goal of the Super Screener is to focus on stakes races that can offer value to the player…races that are tough to figure out and require deeper screening and analysis.  This one could have offered value had the other horses stayed in as #6 Chiltern would have gone off at around 6-1.

Post the scratches, the outcome became quite chalky and #3 Watchyourownbobber, had quite an easy time of it winning this race in dominating fashion.

This colt (Watchyourownbobber) hasn’t missed the Superfecta in his past 9 starts.  Is also sporting a beautiful ascent in his form cycle and projects to match or just nudge forward off his last in this just his 4th start since March.  Can’t run too fast early here.
A horse to move up next time he runs is #5 Thatcher Street.  The pace complexion that developed did not favor his late energy distribution profile and yet he ran a formidable race to finish a closing third.

Now the big Stakes action starts to really heat up again as we count down the weeks to the Breeders’ Cup.  Next weekend, our neighbors to the North take center stage as Woodbine cards a stakes-rich day of racing including three Grade 1 races that are all “win and you’re in” contests:

G1 Woodbine Mile

G1 Northern Dancer

G1 Natalma

Plenty of stakes racing action ahead and our many thanks to you our customers who make this product possible.

Go Fast and Win!
Mike
